A new PC pool was equipped with 11 PC's. It provides wireless internet from the University network. ESRI ArcGIS software is used for lecturing Remote Sensing and GIS application units. Additionally students are trained on open source ILWIS software.
For teaching purposes 2 LCD projectors with a projection screena were purchased. Furthermore a scanner and two printers are available in the Project office.




The new climate station at KU Geography Department is fully automatic and collects data on rainfall, air and soil temperature, air humidity, air pressure, solar radiation, wind direction and wind speed in a 10 minute interval.
The power supply is via solar power. Data transfer is via GPRS.




Students of the IWM-Master Programme, lecturers and technicians of Geography Department worked together to erect and install the climate station

The Resource Centre at the Department of Geography is supported by IWMNET. A digital literature database can be searched by students. A student assistant  is ready to help. Recent publications covering a wide range of IWM related topics are accessible as books, journal papers and proceedings.

IWMNet has been established as an International Network in form of a Trust on 21st of September 2011 in Kampala.The registration process has started in Kenya.
